Government of Maharashtra has published the draft Maharashtra Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Maharashtra) Rules, 2026 under the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020 and invited objections and suggestions from stakeholders within 45 days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette.
The draft rules prescribe provisions relating to registration of establishments, registration fees and delayed registration fees, commencement and closure intimation, annual medical examination of employees, issuance of appointment letters, reporting of accidents, dangerous occurrences and occupational diseases, constitution of the State Occupational Safety and Health Advisory Board, constitution of Safety Committees for specified building and construction establishments, appointment and qualification of Safety Officers, and provisions relating to working hours, weekly holidays and compensatory holidays.
Objections and suggestions may be submitted to the Labour Commissioner, Maharashtra State, or through the notified email address within the prescribed period.
