Securities and Exchange Board of India issued the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue and Listing of Securitised Debt Instruments and Security Receipts) (Amendment) Regulations, 2026 to amend the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue and Listing of Securitised Debt Instruments and Security Receipts) Regulations, 2008.
The amendment revises provisions relating to governance of Special Purpose Distinct Entities, acquisition of debt or receivables, substitution of the term “originator” with “servicer” in specified provisions, reporting obligations, eligibility conditions under Regulation 19A, circumstances for winding up of schemes, appointment of a new trustee where registration of an existing trustee is suspended or cancelled, and disclosure requirements under Schedule V by including concentration risk arising due to single asset securitisation. Amendments have been made to Regulations 9, 10, 10A, 11, 19A, 20, 45 and Schedule V of the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue and Listing of Securitised Debt Instruments and Security Receipts) Regulations, 2008.
The notification amends the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Issue and Listing of Securitised Debt Instruments and Security Receipts) Regulations, 2008 by making amendments to Regulations 9, 10, 10A, 11, 19A, 20, 45 and Schedule V, as specified in clauses I to VIII of Regulation 3 of the notification.
