Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) issued letters dated 12.02.2025, 25.03.2025, 16.10.2025, 16.12.2025, 11.06.2026 and 20.07.2026 regarding harmonization of the classification of industrial sectors across the country. Rajasthan State Pollution Control Board (RSPCB) had adopted a revised methodology for categorization of industrial sectors under Red, Orange, Green and Blue categories vide Office Order dated 21.01.2026.

RSPCB undertook a review of the categorization framework and identified industrial sectors that were included in the earlier RSPCB categorization but were not covered under the categorization notified by CPCB. These left-out sectors have been classified under the respective categories. The consolidated list of industrial sectors classified under Red, Orange and Green categories is enclosed as Annexure-A, comprising 144 sectors under Red category, 159 sectors under Orange category, and 117 sectors under Green category.

This Office Order applies to all industrial sectors listed in Annexure-A operating within RSPCB’s jurisdiction. It is addressed for compliance/enforcement to: P.S. to Chairperson RSPCB; Sr. P.A. to Member Secretary RSPCB; Joint Secretary RSPCB; CEE-I, CEE-II; ACEE-I, ACEE-II, CSO; CAO; all GICs (to enforce); all Regional Officers (to enforce); ACP-II (to upload on the State Board’s website and incorporate in MIS-2); and Master File.

This Office Order supersedes all previous office orders, circulars, notifications, guidelines and instructions issued by the Board pertaining to categorization/classification of industrial sectors.
