Hallmarking of Gold Jewellery and Gold Artefacts (Third Amendment) Order, 2026

The Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution (Department of Consumer Affairs) has issued this order in the public interest after consulting the Bureau of Indian Standards. The order further amends the Hallmarking of Gold Jewellery and Gold Artefacts Order, 2020.

The existing ANNEXURE to the Hallmarking of Gold Jewellery and Gold Artefacts Order, 2020 has been substituted in its entirety with a new ANNEXURE. The new ANNEXURE specifies the States/Union territories and the corresponding districts within each where the hallmarking requirements under the Order apply. The substitution covers 26 States and Union territories. Entities engaged in hallmarking of gold jewellery and gold artefacts in the specified districts are within the scope of this amendment.
