The Labour, Factories, Boilers & Insurance Medical Services Department, Government of Andhra Pradesh, issued the final notification for the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026. The draft preliminary notification was made available to the public on April 06, 2026. Objections and suggestions received from persons and stakeholders were considered by the State Government.
The notification makes the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026. It states that the Rules are made in supersession of the previous Rules made by the State Government relating to the Beedi and Cigar Workers (Conditions of Employment) Act, 1966; the Building and Other Construction Workers (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1996; the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970; the Dock Workers (Safety, Health and Welfare) Act, 1986; the Factories Act, 1948; the Inter State Migrant Workmen (Regulation of Employment and Conditions of Service) Act, 1979; the Motor Transport Workers Act, 1961; and the Plantation Labour Act, 1951, except in respect of things done or omitted to be done before such supersession
