BIS Notifies 28 New/Revised Indian Standards Across Multiple Sectors

Applicable Section/Rule: Rule 15(1)

Bureau of Indian Standards, in pursuance of Rule 15(1) of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, notified the establishment of a total of 28 Indian Standards across three notifications dated July 23, July 24, and July 27, 2026. Where an established standard supersedes an earlier version, the superseded standard remains concurrently in force until its stated withdrawal date, which in each case is January 21 or January 24, 2027 (six months from the respective establishment date).

The standards cover textiles, e-waste management, stationery, metallic coatings, geosynthetics, leather safety footwear, safety glass, food-grade chemicals, cement, hydrometers, polyethylene materials, wine testing, combine harvesters, flour milling, antenna/tower foundations, ground improvement, irrigation equipment, paper board, pharmacovigilance, household electrical appliances, and information technology.
