  1. General Conditions Applicable to the Revised Rates
    • The revised basic rates are not permitted to be segregated into allowance components by the employer; there shall be 100% neutralization of the rise or fall in the consumer price index on a pro-rata basis, with the adjustment made as prescribed under the Code on Wages Rules, 2026.
    • The revised rates operate as a floor: minimum wages linked to earlier rates shall not fall below the rates now fixed as a result of that linkage.
    • Wages of apprentices appointed under the Apprentices Act, 1961 continue to be regulated under that Act.
    • There shall be no difference between the wages payable to men and women workers.
    • Where workers are engaged through a contractor or service provider, the principal employer/occupier is personally responsible for ensuring payment of the minimum rates by the contractor or service provider.
    • No worker shall be paid less than the minimum wage fixed for the corresponding category of skill and experience.
    • Daily wage rates are calculated by dividing the monthly rate by 26 days; for computing deductions, the monthly rate is divided by 30 days, or as otherwise prescribed by the appropriate Government from time to time.
    • Trainees are entitled to 75% of the wages applicable to their category, subject to a floor of the Unskilled-category minimum wage; the training period may not exceed one year
