Government of Andhra Pradesh issued the Industrial Relations (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026, Code on Wages (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026, and Code on Social Security (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026 for implementation of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, the Code on Wages, 2019, and the Code on Social Security, 2020 in the State. The notifications state that the Rules were issued after consideration of objections and suggestions, wherever specified, and supersede the corresponding rules framed under the repealed labour laws, except in respect of actions taken or omitted before such supersession.

Industrial Relations (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026 prescribe provisions relating to recognition of negotiating unions and negotiating councils, standing orders, notice of change, lay-off, retrenchment and closure, dispute resolution, conciliation, arbitration, Industrial Tribunal procedures, strikes and lock-outs, recovery of dues, penalties, maintenance of records, electronic filing, and forms prescribed under the Industrial Relations Code, 2020. The Rules apply in accordance with the Code and come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

Code on Wages (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026 prescribe provisions relating to definitions, fixation and calculation of minimum wages, revision of variable dearness allowance, working hours, weekly rest day, night shifts, wage periods, payment of wages, deductions, fines, recovery of advances and loans, constitution and functioning of the State Advisory Board, payment of dues, nomination, handling of undisbursed dues, maintenance of registers, wage slips and prescribed forms. The Rules extend to the whole of Andhra Pradesh and come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.

Code on Social Security (Andhra Pradesh) Rules, 2026 prescribe provisions relating to registration and cancellation of establishments, the Andhra Pradesh Unorganised Workers Social Security Board, the Andhra Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, the Employees’ State Insurance Society, welfare schemes, constitution and functioning of Boards and Committees, maintenance of records, and other matters provided under the Code on Social Security, 2020. The Rules come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
