A draft of the Code on Wages (Rajasthan) Rules, 2026 was published as required under sub-section (1) of section 67 of the Code on Wages, 2019, in the Rajasthan Gazette Extraordinary, Part 4(ga), Up-khand (II), dated January 13, 2026, inviting objections and suggestions from persons likely to be affected, before expiry of forty-five days from the date the Gazette copies were made available to the public. Copies of the said Gazette were made available to the public on January 13, 2026. Objections and suggestions received from the public on the draft rules were considered by the State Government. The State Government, in exercise of powers under section 67 of the Code, made the rules.

The rules are titled the Code on Wages (Rajasthan) Rules, 2026, and extend to the whole of the State of Rajasthan. The rules cover manner of calculating minimum rate of wages, norms for fixation of minimum rate of wages, revision of dearness allowance, working hours, weekly day of rest, night shifts, payment of wages, deductions, State Advisory Board constitution and functioning, payment of dues and claims, forms and registers, wage slips, enquiry and composition of offences, and repeal and savings, along with Forms I to X and a Schedule of worker classification appended thereto. The rules apply to employers, employees, the Authority appointed under section 45, the appellate authority, the State Advisory Board, Inspector-cum-Facilitators, and registered Trade Unions. The rules repeal the Rajasthan Payment of Wages Rules, 1961; the Rajasthan Payment of Wages (Procedure) Rules, 1961; the Rajasthan Payment of Wages (Unclaimed Amount) Rules, 1972; the Rajasthan Payment of Wages (Manner of Recovery of Excess Deductions) Rules, 1966; the Rajasthan Minimum Wages Rules, 1959; the Rajasthan Minimum Wages (Undisbursed Amount) Rules, 1961; and the Rajasthan Ease of Compliance to Maintain Registers under various Labour Laws Rules, 2017, subject to the savings specified in rule 50(2).
