The Delhi Fire Service (Amendment) Act, 2026 received the assent of the Lt. Governor of Delhi on August 25, 2026. The Act was passed by the Legislative Assembly of the National Capital Territory of Delhi on August 11, 2026 and was published for general information.

The Act further amends the Delhi Fire Service Act, 2007. It provides that, in section 2, clause (i), the words “building bye-laws/National Building Code of India” shall be substituted with the words “building bye-laws”. The Act shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

Amendment of section 2 – In the Delhi Fire Service Act, 2007 (Delhi Act 2 of 2009), in section 2, in clause (i), for the words “building bye-laws/National Building Code of India”, the words “building bye-laws” shall be substituted”.
