Trade Notice No.: 23/2026-2027 dated 28 August 2026
The DGFT has introduced enhanced functionalities in the Bank Guarantee (BG) Repository Module on the DGFT Portal to improve BG processing, monitoring and digital communication.
Key Changes:
Purpose Field: New field to identify fresh BG submissions and replacement of existing BGs.
Expiry Alerts: Automated email alerts will be sent 60 and 45 days before BG expiry.
Digital Communications: Regional Authorities can digitally generate and sign communications relating to BG renewal, replacement, encashment and return.
BG Status Tracking: A structured mechanism will track BGs through stages such as Pending Acceptance, Accepted, Replaced, Returned on EODC, and Renewal/Encashment.
Bills Repository: BGs declared under the Bills Repository will remain “Pending Acceptance” until approval by the concerned Regional Authority.
Invalidation Files: BG status will automatically change to “Accepted” once the linked invalidation file is approved.
Objective:
The changes are intended to reduce paper-based processing, improve monitoring of expiring BGs, streamline BG replacement and ensure standardised digital communication across DGFT Regional Authorities.
Action Required:
Exporters and other stakeholders should take note of these enhancements and ensure timely compliance through the DGFT Portal.
