Effective Date: June 29, 2026
The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) issued a release regarding the Employees’ Enrolment Campaign, 2026 (EEC 2026), notified with effect from June 29, 2026. The Campaign provides a one-time opportunity to enrol eligible employees who remained outside EPF coverage during the period from April 1, 2009 to March 31, 2026.
The Campaign is open until October 31, 2026. Eligible employers may declare and enrol employees who were left outside EPF coverage during the prescribed period and who are alive and continuing in employment with the establishment on the date of declaration. Specified relaxations are available for past compliance, including waiver of the employee’s share where it was not deducted earlier, subject to the conditions of the Campaign.
Enrolment and remittance are to be completed through the prescribed online mechanism. A Face Authentication-based UAN is to be generated through the UMANG App for each declared employee, and contributions are to be remitted through the Electronic Challan-cum-Return (ECR).
EPFO is undertaking awareness and outreach activities relating to EEC 2026 among employers, employees, establishments, contractors and other stakeholders. Ministries and Departments of the Government of India, State Governments and Union Territories, Public Sector Undertakings, Autonomous Bodies and other organisations are being encouraged to facilitate dissemination of the Campaign among establishments and service providers under their administrative control.
