The Central Government, vide S.O. No. 1929(E) published in the Gazette of India on April 26, 2023, had added ‘Television Sets’ at Sl. No. 64 of the Schedule of the Electronics and Information Technology Goods (Requirements for Compulsory Registration) Order, 2021 for compliance to IS 18112:2022. The date of coming into effect of that order was July 26, 2026.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology has notified an extension of the implementation date for Television Sets under Sl. No. 64 of the Schedule of the Compulsory Registration Order, 2021. The date of implementation of the Order, which was previously July 26, 2026, stands extended to January 26, 2027. All entities required to comply with the IS 18112:2022 standard for Television Sets under the Compulsory Registration Order are impacted by this extension.
