FSSAI Updates Notified Labs, Issues HEE/LC-HRMS Corrigendum and Revises Validity List

FSSAI issued four separate communications between July 13 and July 17, 2026: a Gazette notification amending the list of NABL-accredited food testing laboratories under S.O. 3648(E) dated December 6, 2016; a corrigendum to the technical specifications of High End Equipment (GC-MS/MS, LC-MS/MS, ICP-MS & ICP-OES) issued vide Notice dated December 10, 2025; a Notice finalizing technical specifications for LC-HRMS; and an order listing the validity of NABL accreditation for FSSAI-recognised food testing laboratories as on July 17, 2026.

  1. Notified Lab List Amendment: Substitutes, omits, and inserts laboratory entries under Jammu & Kashmir, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, and Telangana in the table appended to S.O. 3648(E).
  2. HEE Corrigendum: Amends LC-MS/MS ionization source desolvation temperature from “500°C or better” to “400°C or better,” and ICP-MS mass analyzer high mass side detection limit from “≤ 1 x 10-7” to “≤ 5 x 10-7.” States specifications are indicative, not mandatory tender conditions.
  3. LC-HRMS Notice: Finalizes technical specifications for LC-HRMS (Annexure-I), covering application requirements, UHPLC system, mass spectrometer, software, warranty, and accessories. States specifications are indicative, not mandatory tender conditions.
  4. Lab Validity List: Encloses Annexure I (FSSAI-notified NABL-accredited laboratories with valid accreditation as on July 17, 2026) and Annexure II (laboratories with expired, suspended, or denotification-pending accreditation), with region-wise laboratory details and validity dates.
