The Ministry of Communications (Department of Telecommunications, Telecommunication Engineering Centre) has issued this notification in exercise of powers under section 19 of the Telecommunications Act, 2023 read with rule 5 of the Telecommunications (Framework to Notify Standards, Conformity Assessment and Certification) Rules, 2025.
Three new standards for telecommunication equipment have been notified with effect from the date of publication of the notification in the Official Gazette. The standards apply to telecommunication equipment as specified below. Entities involved in the manufacture, supply, or use of the specified telecommunication equipment are within the scope of these notified standards
“S.O. 4360(E).— In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the Telecommunications Act, 2023 (44 of 2023) read with rule 5 of the Telecommunications (Framework to Notify Standards, Conformity Assessment and Certification) Rules, 2025, the Central Government hereby notifies the following standards for telecommunication equipment with effect from the date of publication of this notification in the Official Gazette, namely: —

1. TEC 33011:2026 Test Guide — IoT Gateway
2. TEC 21141:2026 Test Guide — Fixed Wireless Access Customer Premises Equipment
3. TEC 68090:2026 Generic Requirements — Solid Polythene Insulated Fully Jelly Filled, Polythene Sheathed Underground Telecom Cables”
