Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued Notification No. SS-T0FA(NOTI)/3/2024-Standard-FSSAI dated May 23, 2026. A draft of the amendment regulations was published on October 3, 2024 and made available to the public on October 7, 2024. Objections and suggestions received from the public were considered by FSSAI. The principal regulations were published on August 1, 2011 and were last amended vide notification dated October 17, 2024. These regulations are called the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Amendment Regulations, 2026 and shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette.
In the Food Safety and Standards (Prohibition and Restrictions on Sales) Regulations, 2011, in regulation 2.3, in sub-regulation 2.3.14, clause (8) shall be omitted.
