The circular is issued by the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organisation (PESO), Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Government of India, addressed to all concerned. It refers to the requirement under Rule 35 of the Gas Cylinders Rules, 2016 that no cylinder whose periodic testing and examination is due shall be filled with any compressed gas.
PESO has enabled a search facility in its public domain to facilitate verification of the validity of CNG cylinder test certificates. The circular specifies the navigation path for verification as: Status → Rule (Gas Cylinders Rules) → Form Action (Search CNG Certificate by Vehicle Number). All concerned are advised to verify the validity of the CNG cylinder test certificate before filling CNG into any on-board CNG cylinder or cylinder fitted to a motor vehicle.
