A draft of the Rajasthan Industrial Relation Rules, 2026 was published as required under sub-section (1) of section 99 of the Industrial Relations Code, 2020, in the Rajasthan Gazette Extraordinary, Part 4(ga), Up-khand (II), dated January 20, 2026, inviting objections and suggestions from persons likely to be affected, before expiry of forty-five days from the date the Gazette copies were made available to the public. Copies of the said Gazette were made available to the public on January 20, 2026. Objections and suggestions received from the public on the draft rules were considered by the State Government. The State Government, in exercise of powers under section 99 of the Code, made the rules.
The rules are titled the Rajasthan Industrial Relation Rules, 2026, and extend to the whole of the State of Rajasthan in respect of industrial establishments and matters for which the State Government is the appropriate Government. The rules cover memorandum of settlement, Works Committee and Grievance Redressal Committee constitution, Trade Union registration and administration, standing orders, notice of change, voluntary arbitration, mechanism for resolution of industrial disputes, strikes and lock-outs, lay-off, retrenchment and closure, worker re-skilling fund, and compounding of offences, along with Forms I to XX appended thereto. The rules apply to employers, workers, registered Trade Unions, negotiating unions or councils, conciliation officers, the Industrial Tribunal, and other authorities specified therein. The rules repeal the Rajasthan Industrial Disputes Rules, 1958; the Rajasthan Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Rules, 1963; and the Rajasthan Trade Union Regulation Rules, 1959, subject to the savings specified in rule 64(2).
