Applicable Act/Rule: Warehousing Development and Regulatory
Warehousing Development and Regulatory Authority addressed all Registered Non-Agri Warehousemen and All Inspection Agencies regarding revision of the storage capacity conversion factor applicable to non-agricultural (metal) warehouses.
The revised conversion factor is 1 MT equivalent to 0.35 sq meters area, subject to:
(1) a Floor Bearing Certificate duly certified by a Chartered Engineer (Civil/Structural).
(2) Net Worth Certificate, Insurance, and Security Deposit documents corresponding to the storage capacity calculated as per the revised factor.
(3) an appropriate floor layout plan indicating space utilisation for inspection, cargo movement, and other operational requirements and
(4) for existing non-Agri (Metal) warehouses seeking to enhance storage capacity, submission of an application under the “Capacity Modification” request through the WDRA portal, subject to the above requirements.
The storage capacity conversion factor applicable to agricultural warehouses is stated to remain unchanged.
