In pursuance of Sub-rule (5) of Rule 27 of the Bureau of Indian Standards Rules, 2018, the Bureau of Indian Standards notifies that IS 17899 T : 2024 – Assessment of Biodegradability of Plastics in Varied Conditions (Revised) – has lapsed with effect from June 13, 2026.
Amendment to Mode of Payment and Reporting Regulations for Non-Debt Instruments under FEMA

FSSAI Advisory on Use of Food-Grade & Corrosion-Resistant Cutting Equipment by FBOs
Schedule 4 of the Food Safety and Standards (Licensing and Registration of Food Businesses) Regulations, 2011 requires that equipment, utensils and food-contact surfaces used in food handling, preparation, processing, packaging and storage shall be made of food-grade, non-toxic, corrosion-resistant materials, maintained in hygienic condition, and adequately cleaned and disinfected at appropriate intervals.

FSSAI Advisory on Immediate Discontinuation of Metallic Pins/Wires in Food Products and Packaging
FSSAI, Regulatory Compliance Division, has issued an Advisory addressed to all Food Business Operators (FBOs), with a copy to Commissioners of Food Safety of all States/UTs for necessary compliance action. It has come to the notice of FSSAI that metallic/staple pins and wires are being used by FBOs for preparing decorative cakes and other such products and for fastening food packets, cake boxes, sweet boxes, snack pouches, takeaway food parcels, and other food packages.
